Meet Alec Weltman

Alec Weltman is a student in the class of 2029 at Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, Maryland, USA. At Churchill, he plays on the State Championship winning varsity tennis team earning Student Athlete of the Month honors in his freshman year. He is a volunteer with the Maryland Special Olympics Ski Program, helping athletes with intellectual disabilities compete and the Blood Cancer Society, raising money for an issue he cares about deeply.

Inspired by the legacy of General Gerald Tanaka, Alec carries his spirit forward by collecting and distributing eyeglasses each year for patients at Mbuya Dorcas Hospital in Harare, Zimbabwe in partnership with The Gerald Tanaka Khosa Foundation.

Looking ahead, Alec plans to study medicine so he can continue to help bring compassion and care to others.
